Prenium Portuguese Sardines. DaMorgada Portuguese sardines (Pilchardus Walbaum), harvested off the coast of Portugal, are known to be the sweetest and most succulent in the world. They are caught in seines and fishing nets. Once harvested, these top quality sardines are in the can within hours of being fished from the sea. The process involves manual cleaning and very careful handling, followed by the traditional cooking in a grill oven before being canned. Only extra virgin or pure olive oil is used in the different sauces.
